About a year ago I discovered a podcast for film lovers that just clicked for me the moment I pressed play. One year later I decide to join a holiday gift exchange in a community formed around that podcast and I receive this incredible film from a stranger.
The score by Tangerine Dream never missed a beat. The nighttime city shots and overall neon color palette feel familiar and real but also very original. Robert Prosky brings such an interesting “bad guy”…
Trent and Atticus really just dropped a tech house record for this one, what a wild choice. The style definitely kept me on my toes and I really enjoyed the way the story was executed (even though I felt like the final sequence was way too dragged out). Between the score and all of the gimmicky cinematography it felt super jarring, but it pretty much worked overall.
I must just be getting old because every movie is too loud yet I still can’t understand parts of the dialogue?? Anyway, we must protect Luca Guadagnino at all costs.

NEW TOP FOUR ALERT 🚨
When the mom sparks a joint and says “we’re sending bibles to El Salvador” lmfao. I feel like I was confused by something in every single scene in the best way possible. Such a fun movie.
